Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra, Inc.
Add class and sophistication to your next event with the Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra - the Rocky Mountain region's premier jazz orchestra. This 18-pc "big band" features male and female vocalists as well as Musical Director/MC.
Featuring many of Denver's finest jazz musicians, the MJO performs the toe-tapping, finger-snapping big band hits of the '40s and '50s all the way to present day NY/LA sizzling big band tunes. Enjoy classic charts from Glen Miller, Tommy Dorsey and Woody Herman to Count Basie, Stan Kenton and Buddy Rich to the vocal stylings of Harry Connick Jr., Michael Buble, Frank Sinatra and Ella to the sultry bossa novas of Antonio Carlos Jobim and Arturo Sandoval. Classic swing, rock, pop, and Latin, as well as traditional and holiday programs are available.
The MJO has an extensive library of favorite jazz and swing classics as well as a selection of modern pop hits from the '80s and '90s. There is something for every musical taste to suit any occasion. Reasonably priced, the MJO is perfect for jazz festivals, concerts, swing dances, New Year's Eve celebrations, holiday gatherings, corporate parties, weddings and anniversaries.
The MJO Brass is also available for your ceremony or other event requiring a classical brass choir sound! We can provide 3-6 piece brass choir prior to the big band performance or as a stand alone group. Classic wedding as well as other ceremonial tunes are available. Open Rehearsals!!
MJO rehearses MOST Sundays from 4p-6p at the Community of Christ Church located at 5th & Marion St in Denver. Rehearsals are OPEN TO THE PUBLIC so please come on by to listen, say "hi" or talk to us about performing for your event. Please call Scott at 303-521-8206 to verify that we will be rehearsing on the day you choose to visit.
We have teamed with ChopSaver creator Dan Gosling to bring you an excellent lip product that far surpasses regular "chapsticks". If you are not familiar with ChopSaver, go to their webste (www.chopsaver.com) to read all about his product.
